1. Who is Andrew Mwenda?
Andrew Mwenda also
known as Old Man of the Clan is a Ugandan journalist, political commentator and
principal founder of the Independent a Ugandan daily news publication which is
currently available online at the independent.ug.
Mwenda is one of the
most influential new journalist in Uganda and one of the most educated in the
country former main political editor at The Daily monitor one the biggest news
Publisher in Uganda.

Mwenda’s tribe?
Andrew Mwenda’s tribe is a Munyankole from the Banyankole tribe in Western
Uganda. His parents and grand parents were born
in Ankole region with their origins from Western Uganda where they were
also raised.

Andrew Mwenda studied
at Nyakasura High School for Ordinary level education where he received his
Ugandan Certificate of Education before joining Mwiri College Busoga for his
Advanced level receiving his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education.

University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He was
admitted to University of London where he graduated with a Master of Arts in
Developmental Studies at the Chevening Scholarship. He was also a visiting
fellow of Yale University and University of Leiden in 2003 and John Knight
fellow at Stanford University.
