1. Prelude

Dubai is arguably one of the foreign countries with most Ugandans. Ugandans time long have been running to this destination looking for greener pastures and it has proven to be the easiest if not the best getaway for anyone if not everyone looking to find where to get their life going . But with this kind of success comes a lot of challenges which have been hidden and some have been exposed in article 1 we try to capture the some of the story and mystery covered around moving to Arabian countries.

2. Getting on the plane .

Getting a visa and passport to go to those foreign countries is a very easy process though it has been manipulated by various individuals looking to capitalize on these numerous opportunity surrounding kyeyo. In Uganda just like everywhere money is a big factor here and so if you really have some good money you will be able to go through the process with a lot of ease. However for the poor ones the process to go is to go through a company but this comes with a price of signing a contract to work with the company for the next one to two years with different conditions.

3. Types of work in Dubai.

There are different types of work but they can all be categorized in two that is the company workers and the hustlers. The company workers as mentioned earlier are those that signed contract with companies as these have to work for the company for 1 to 2 years with a percentage of their hustle taken by the company. Well for the hustlers are those that have found a way to Dubai and find means possible to get a dime .These normally make and sell things like Chapatti katogo local foods from Uganda. eg famously known katogo seller Isma katogo bugii.

4. Accommodation.

This is a big challenge according to various people that have been there. This is simply because housing in Dubai is very expensive and so Ugandans improvised away to find cheaper housing around town by sharing rooms which they call BED SPACES ,where they put around 5 to 6 beds in a single rooms on deckers.

These are independent Ugandans that go without prepared work for them to afford to sleep . Some end up failing to get a place to crib resulting into them sleeping on streets for some time in order to be able to raise rent .
