Dating on the African continent is far different from dating on other continents ,some may argue that its the same but there are so much identifiable between dating in say Africa and dating in Europe.
Dating as whole idea has changed over the years with civilisation ,taking different paths from the ancient paths where men could dictate relationships to the current relationships where its a collective effort to try and move the relationship forward .
These three are some of the ideas collected from Uganda on how a successful relationship can be handled in Uganda and Africa as a whole.
1 .Asking out.
Dating apps are currently leading in getting dates in the world but this is not the case in Africa . Though the internet has managed its way into the continent ,it hasn’t really pushed for dating apps .There are a few cases where people use these apps but it isn’t that common .
So getting someone on a date with you in Uganda one has to go the old fashioned way of directly asking someone on a date. This maybe hard in other continents but people are still comfortable with it. One tip to leave with here is to be as polite as possible and be ready for both a yes and a no . Though you may be worried about a no incase the other is not in a relationship that insecurity shouldn’t worry you.
2 . Getting them into you.
This by no doubt is the hardest part people can tell you because it requires you to do really well and create that bond that enables you ask them on a second date . In Uganda more dates are required for a relationship to set in so Don’t rush the process, you have to trust and give it time as culture here asks that one should take multiple dates before getting into a relationship however cases of one dates are also possible .
3 .Commitment.
This ranges from person to person some people will tell you they require full commitment of a partner however others will say as long as you spare them enough time for bonding there is no problem in having other relationships .This is partly in the muslim community where you are are allowed to have at most four wives or romantic relationships as long as you are able to balance time and demands of all relationships.
Your main takeaway from African relationships must be taking time to understand the cultural norms and family region of the partner because this is the basis of all successful African relationship. The culture and religion give them the direction to follow one a relationship
