A 56 year old woman identified as Nakyanzi Maria Yosefu has been attacked in kyotera by the machete gangs. Her both arms have been cut off.

She was attacked by the thugs on the veranda of her house at about 8:00 p.m.

According to the Southern Regional Police Spokesperson Muhammad Nsubuga, Nakyanzi has been rushed to Masaka regional referral hospital.

Nsubuga says that the police rushed to the scene and have since launched a search for the thugs.

The kyotera deputy Resident District Commissioner Teopista Mbabazi said the thugs earlier dropped leaflets which caused panic.

However, the past two days had given the people of Masaka sub region hope and relief that maybe the machete gangs would not come back since no attack was registered.

A total of 26 have been murdered in about one month.
