1.   Who is Bad Black?

Bad Black real name Shanitah Namuyimbwa is a Uganda popular socialite, businesswoman who resides in Kampala Uganda where she runs most of her businesses.

Bad Black was born on 27thof December 1989 in Zana Kampala Uganda along Kampala Entebbe road where she lived most of her childhood life and also tried schooling but later dropped out in senior two due to shortage in school fees and other school needs.

3.   How did Bad Black become famous?

Bad Black gained her name in 2010 a city don and socialite who was spending money on all luxury in Uganda and had developed a very rich young woman who was later charged with embezzlement of money by the British man David Greenhalgh from whom she had embezzled her wealth.

Victoria University has unveiled socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa alias Bad Black as one of their new students. The socialite will pursue a course in digital marketing and English language. Bad Black has also been chosen to be Victoria University’sbrand ambassador with effect from today.

The university Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga said Black Black’s enrolment is an initiative intended to improve the lives of single mothers through pursuing different short courses which can change their future.

This news was further confirmed after she took to her social media pages and posted a copy of the agreement.

 

“I can’t explain but coming live to address in English as am the official brand ambassador of Victoria University,” she posted.

8.   Does Bad Black have a house?

Rumors spread on social media that she was thrown out of the house after failing to clear her rent arrears.

However, Bad Black claims that she couldn’t clear her rent arrears after her landlord refused to serve her tenancy agreement.

She added that even after paying 1000$ of the same month, she was sent an eviction letter to vacate the building. She adds that the rent was 1600$ monthly and she stayed in the house since Dec 2018.

The Socialite explains that the country is affected by the Pandemic, making it hard for her to get investors. Mama Jonah Clarifies that if the landlord demands 5000$, that’s 3 months which she failed to pay.

Black alleges   that she demanded for 2021 tenancy agreement, but the the law firm refused to deliver hence no essence of paying rent

 

 

9.   Why was Bad Black imprisoned in 2012?

Hearing of the case before Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, kicked off in February 2012, at the Anti Corruption Division of the High Court of Uganda, in Kampala. In July 2012, Shanita was convicted of embezzling USh11 billion (US$3,824,130 at that time), from the bank account of Davishan Development Uganda Limited, a company where Greenhalgh owned 75 percent shareholding and Namuyimbwa owned 25 percent. Shanita’s co-accused, Medi Ssentongo was convicted of conspiring to defraud the company.

The judge sentenced Namuyimbwa to four years in prison for embezzlement and Medi Ssentongo was sentenced to 18 months in prison for conspiracy to defraud.

10.                   How did Bad Black recover after prison?

After she served her four year sentence, she was released from prison on 14 March 2016. None of the nearly US$3.9 million that she was convicted of embezzling was recovered.

Other brushes with the law included her arrest at Kigali International Airport in October 2013, on an Interpol arrest warrant, for jumping bail in Kampala. She was extradited back to Uganda
