Janzi Awards Uganda Launched
The Janzi Awards are Ugandan National Awards introduced in 2021 to celebrate national innovation and excellence in performing arts and creative.
The Awards are organized yearly by the Janzi Awards Academyin Partnership with Ministry of Tourism, Uganda Musicians Association, National Cultural Forum, Uganda Cultural Forum Operation Wealth Creation and Ministry of Gender Labor and Social Development.

The awards include 8 major categories including
1. Visual arts and Craft
2. Music Category
3. Books And Publishing
4. Performing arts
5. Film and Video
6. Culture and National Heritage
7. Software and Innovations
8. Support services
The awards were introduced as a resolution by the Academy to fill the gap for award excellent performers of the year.

Some sources say they were also part of the plan to improve the artist industry by awarding performance after the meeting held in Gulu between performers and Operation wealth creation Chairman General Salim Saleh and is meant to be one of the steps to improve the Uganda artist industry.
Awarding is based on Voting and Academy decision where by Voting contributes 30% and The Academy Accounts for the rest 70%.
Voting for 2021 is going to take place until 5th December 2021 where they will decide and winners would be announced on the ceremony to be held on 10thDecember 2021.
