9 OMICRON CASES IN UGANDA

 

 

The ministry of Health has confirmed 9 new cases of the COVID 19 variant omicron.

The news have been provided by the a source close with the ministry of health office who confirmed that the cases were discovered on 7 December 2021 as 9 turned a positive COVID 19 TEST of the variant.

 Omicron variant is of SARs-CoV-2, virus which causes COVID 19 which was first reported by the World health organization in November 2021.

The variant has been confirmed in different countries most especially in Southern Africa including Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi Lesotho which were the first countries in East Africa to confirm the cases of the various.

The countries had even put new protocols by their governments to help cub the Omicron variant which was muted from Coronavirus and they had faced various travel bans by top European countries and the US which had affected their travel activities.

Uganda is now one of the few countries with the variant and it is meant to limit some of its activities if the variant is not held in good context.

With this new Variant it is unclear of how the Government through the ministry of Heal this expected to react to the new variant with the promise it had given to the Citizens of Uganda to fully reopen the economy with effect of January.

The President of Uganda YK Museveni had promised that the country would be fully open in January with industries like Entertainment including bars and artists excited about the promise.
