Andrew Muwonge wins Kayunga Elections

 

 

The By Elections held in Kayunga that had caused tension in the country have bbeen won by NRM candidate Andrew Muwonge who was backed by the leading party of the National Resistance movement. Andrew Garned 31,830 votes against 31,380 votes of Harriet Nakawedde of NUP to win the LC V Chairperson seat.

This has however caused discussions and disagreements in the Opposition camp of the National Unity Platform which claims to have won the elections by 15,000 votes according to their DR Declaration Forms which they were having with the National Unity Platform agents.

The Party leadership that the results from over 335 polling stations out of the 338 which were considered showed their NUP candidate leadeing by 15,00 votes before the final announcement by the Electoral commission.

NUP says that they were chested by the Leading government of NRM which went through the Uganda Electoral commission to declare its Candidate Andrew Muwonge instead of Nakwedde who is the NUP candidate.

The Electoral Commission has made it clear that the results it announce were true and they were confirmed by both polling agents who were on the polling stations and had signed to prove they were true.
