This is because of the nurses are one of the lowest paid civil servants in Uganda which has been their concern through their union for that last 10 years.

This information comes after the Medical Doctor interns also had been on the strike and a demonstration in which they were fired by the government because of the constant request of increase in the salary a situation that caused havoc in Uganda because it had caused shortage and limitation in medical services in the public hospitals and health centers which has been increasing the pressure on the ministry of health to do more on its sector as a ministry.

In an interview with the President of the Union, he mentioned that as the union they had requested the nurses and the midwives to move back to their routine activities but however to be patient only until 15thJanuary and the Union is working out a solution with the government and they were only to  work until a solution is reached otherwise they were to halt their activities by 15th January 2022.
