Karamoja to embark on Compulsory Education

 

Leaders in the Karamoja sub-region to take set to focus on mandatory education for all children in the region irrespective of their gender and age. This is to be the main priority of the region as a whole to elevate the level of literacy in the area.

In an interview with the region leaders including the Members of Parliament they showed concern of the increasing level of illiteracy that that the COVID19 Lockdown has caused and elevated during the time of their activities of education.

The lock has resulted into increased crime rate of youths in the region who were influenced by their elder counter parts in region and their own parents whom were leading them to activities such as cattle raiding which is still a challenge in the region.

The leaders together with the government have come up with the latest resolution to punish parents instead for keeping their children in the New Year 2022 since the Education sector was fully opened for all education activities as a way of solving the Education problem in the Karamoja region.
