Who is against who in the Uganda Land Commission?

 

Verbal exchange between various parties in different government sectors over publically owned land has heated over days. The exchange started as Chairman of the Uganda Land Commission Beatrice Nyakaisiki Byenkya was attempted to be deposed of the leadership by members of the Commission over various internal issues by the Land Commission

The Chairperson however returned to the Commission leadership after appealing to court which returned her to the Commission leadership without hearing which raised questions of how this unlawfulness ins in the country´s Land Commission.

The Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Uganda mentioned today that she was researching about the Conflict in the land Commission and that she was committed to finding out who is against one another for her to resolve the matter.

In a press briefing where she mentioned that she is only under command and she was answerable to the president on all matters she was handling. The Minister also rejected the statement made by the ULC Chairperson Byenkya who mentioned that it was money greed that was causing conflict in the Land Commission saying that the money she was talking about was little money which could not cause any conflict as she was not interested in that money.

Chairperson Byenkya who mentioned that she was appointed by the president and could not be removed from leadership by anyone which statement Nabakooba answered saying that the Chairperson should focus on solving issues rather that fighting conflicts in the commission as the NRM is forever moving forward
