 WBS TV History, biography

       1.      What is WBS TV?

WBS Television was a Ugandan popular Cable TV station which was owned by Billionaire Gordon Wavamuno. The TV station was the Biggest TV station in Uganda from 2004 to 2010 with completion from NTV Uganda which started in 2006 and UBC TV, and NBS TV.

       2.      When was WBS TV founded?

WBS TV was founded in 1999 by Gordon Wavamuno as an analog Television Station which developed very fast reaching its popularity in 2004 after being given acess to Parliamentary Stations in Uganda.

      3.      Who was the owner of WBS TV?

WBS TV was owned by Billionaire Gordon Wavamuno who owned Wava water and sevral estate Buildings in Kampala. Wavamuno is also the founder of the Former media Giant which was in operation for over 16 years before its closure.

 

      4.      What did WBS TV stop its operation?

WBS TV stoped operation in December 2016 with full closure of all activities in February 2017 after the Company Chairman Gordon Wavamuno announced from by an official document released by the company lawyer.

 

      5.      When will WBS TV be back on air?

Reports in 2022 indicate that WBS TV is not yet in plans of reopening the TV station with intial rumors in 2020 which stayed that the media company would restart under new management. However leadership from the Wava Group indicate no plans to reopen.

 

       6.      What were the most popular shows on WBS TV?

WBS TV Had the Most popular Shows in Uganda from 2004 to 2009 including Vumbula by Drake Sssekeba, Ensiike Ye bye mizanyo, Late Night by Straka and their popular Theme song WBS Ye Televiosn Esinga.
