 Research has shown that over half of the women (55.7 %) and half of the men (50.1 %) wanted to change their weight; mostly wanting to lose weight. However, 17.7 % of the men wished to gain weight, compared to 6.9 % of the women.  Scientists say the way men’s bodies are built and even where they store fat helps them lose weight more easily than women.

You can lose weight through the following ways mentioned;

Eating plenty of fiber

Dietary fiber contains plant-based carbohydrates that it is not possible to digest in the small intestines. Including plenty of fiber in the diet can increase the feeling of fullness, potentially leading to weight loss.

These foods include:

  • Fruit and vegetables.
  • Whole-grain breakfast cereals, whole-wheat pasta, whole-grain bread and oats.
  •  Bean, nuts and peas.

Try as much to get through stress 

It triggers the release of hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, which initially decrease the appetite as part of the body’s fight.

Stress can be managed through:

  • Meditation and yoga
  • Relaxation techniques and breathing
  • Having a walk during evening

Replace sugary and calorie-loaded drinks with water. Drinking water 30 minutes before a meal can help you reduce weight by decreasing calorie intake. Recent research shows that people who drink water 30 minutes before their meals can have a 44% greater decrease in weight than those who do not.

Always resist the urge to skip a meal.

Research has it that skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster.  Going long periods of time without food does double-duty harm on our healthy eating efforts by both slowing down your metabolism. Make it your mission to eat three meals and two snacks every day, and don’t wait longer than three to four hours without eating. If a hectic day makes a sit-down meal impossible, always have a piece of fruit and pack of nut butter in your car or purse and keep snacks in your desk drawer — anything that will keep you from going hungry!

Use Smaller Plates

Using a smaller plate for unhealthy food will help you lose weight fast. Research has shown that a giant plate can make look servings smaller than they are. A smaller plate will prevent you from eating unhealthy stuff in large quantities. You can further extend it to using bigger plates for healthy foods. 

 

Always sleep Well

Good sleeping habits can help you lose weight. Lack of sleep is associated with hormones like leptin and ghrelin. These hormones increase cravings for unhealthy foods and contribute to increasing weight. Sound sleep also helps in preventing chronic conditions like diabetes.
