9. Shaquille O’Neal
Drafted by the Orlando Magic all Times were praying to get a piece of Shack who used his size to buy defenders and could score easily. Shaq was the best bet for a player in the league since Patrick Ewing.
8. Magic Johnson
Drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers number 1 overall of course. It was almost 100% sure that it was a minimum of 3 if not 4 championships for the Lakers. At the time where there was no social media The entire country knew Magic before the Draft and after Lakers popularity there was compete agreement was going to influence the game for years.
7. Zion Williamson
Zion dominated College Basket bringing excitement to Duke’s games where he was playing. The entire NBA was excited aging . He was even called the biggest prospect of the Decade with the draft having seen no player like him in over 10 years. He was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans.
6. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
With box office size the NBA was sure he was its next Superstar in the Time it was changing. So any team that drafted him which was the Los Angeles Lakers was going to be the Superpower.
5. Michael Jordan
With Nike betting its entire marketing budget one single player. Michael Jordan iss the only player on the list with who was not drafted number one in the NBA draft. He had this swagger with him that showed you exactly that he was going to be him.
4. Hakeem Olajuwon
Drafted of course as most of the players Hakeem was a bigger prospect at the time to most NBA executives. He was drafted higher than Michael Jordan, this proving how much the NBA executives believed he was going to change the game.
3. Patrick Ewing
Causing conspiracy during the Lottery pick, Patrick Ewing was drafted number one overall by the New York Knicks in 1987. The conspiracy says that the NVBA itself helped the Lottery pick such that Ewing would go to New in one of the biggest markets in order to save the NBA itself.
Though not true it show how big a prospect Ewing was.
2. Victor Wembanyama
Victor Wembanyama has been called although not true the biggest NBA prospect ever. Drafted in 2023 he is expected to be the future of the game. Gaining more recognition with the social media presence which has made one of the biggest prospects the NBA has ever seen.
1. LeBron James
If anyone tells you there is a bigger prospect than Lebron James, am telling you it’s a lie. This kid from Akron was in GOAT conversations during his high school. Just imagine his games was streamed on national television and featured on ESPN dominating and controlling games with high maturity in everything he did at age 16.
The lists that are not statistical are a bit subjective because as Humans we love to be listened to and to share our opinions on topics we are passionate about.
