Why is Uganda so poor

As a developing country Uganda is one of the countries people may refer to as poor. The concept of poor countries has existed since the 1960’s when Europeans left most countries for independence.

But the question here is why is Uganda so poor? This question however cannot be justified on a singular reason bur rather a several reasons that have brought the country to the current situation of per capita income being less than a dollar.

Uganda’s poverty is mainly related to the Corruption rate in the country that has failed the proper provision social services to the people by the government . This alone has failed the development of Uganda has increased its poverty levels .

However Uganda’s poverty is caused by many reasons including high corruption rate, low levels of literacy, low levels of technology, the poor infrastructure like roads and railways that have failed the transportation of materials to markets and raw materials to some local industries and also also high population growth rate that has highly stressed the country’s services 

Uganda is therefore referred to as a poor country mainly because of the very low per capita income which is poverty caused by the high corruption rate in the country
