Richest Tribes in Uganda
1. BANYANKOLE
The richest tribe in Uganda is by far the Banyankole. Majority of the tribe is located in districts of Mbarara, Kiruhura, Sembabule, Bushenyi, Ibanda among others.
There is also a reasonable number of Banyankole in Central Uganda in districts of Kampala and Wakiso. The ones located in Kampala and Wakiso make up the biggest percentage of the ultra wealthy in the country.
The Banyankole have immersed most of their wealth from cattle rearing and the vast banana farms they own in their region. They also make up one of the most educated population in Uganda.

2. BAGANDA
Located in the Central business district Kampala these are followed by the Baganda who are the second richest in Uganda.The Tribe holds the biggest and richest cultural institution the Buganda kingdom with the Kabaka.
The Baganda make half that is 50% of the of the country’s ultra-wealthy which is the biggest in the country.
Their strategic location in the 3 top business district has helped the population thrive and make one of the richest communities in the country including other districts of Wakiso and Kampala.
3. BAKIGA
The bakiga are the third richest tribe in Uganda , these are close relatives the Banyakole as they come from the same Western region of the country . The Bakiga in the country are known for the high entrepreneurial mind in the country because they own the biggest number of supermarkets in Uganda coming only second to indians in Uganda.
They are also known for owning big farms in the country with farms of cattle and banana plantations farms.

4. BATORO
Located in Western Uganda with the second most respected cultural institution the Tooro kingdom. The Batoro have immersed wealth from tourism .
With the region being the most visited are also known as the tourism town Fort Portal .This has developed the region hence elevating the status of its people.The region also also highly involved in agriculture producing bananas and cattle just like all other tribes from the regions.
5. BASOGA
The Basoga rank 5th in the richest tribes in the country . Being the richest Tribe in Eastern Uganda, the tribe is known for its poor rural areas but this has not affected a percentage of its population from making wealth.
Most of the regions wealth has been from its farming of sugarcane which has boosted the region’s wealth in the recent years. There is also over 5% of its population in the central district with large amounts of wealth in Kampala and Wakiso
6. ACHOLI
With one of the few cities in the country Gulu houses one of the richest people in the country .
In the recent years Gulu has highly developed after it being named a city and having one of the top Medicine Universities in the country the Acholi are growing as a whole. Though with few ultra rich the entire population has been improving in living standards
7. BATESO
The Bateso or the Teso people are 7thin the richest Tribes in Uganda with farming of Cash crops pushing their rankings higher. They are poular in Uganda for the Commercial production of Tobacco which is the main economic activity in their region.
8. BANYORO
The Banyoro come in 8th as the richest tribe in the country. It is also one of the few tribes with strong cultural institution with their Omugabe the tribe is highly invested in agriculture and mining this has enable its people to live above the poverty line making it one of the top Tribes with the rich people from its origin
9. ALUR TRIBE
The Alur Tribe ranks nineth in the wealthiest tribes in Uganda. With them Coming number second in the Northern region after the Acholi which is also a very wealthy tribe. They are popular in Uganda for their cattle farming coming second to the Banyankole in Western Uganda. They also benefit from the boundary trade as they are located at the Ugandan Congo boarder

10. BAGISHU TRIBE.
The Bagishu tribe is one of the top 10 wealthiest tribes in Uganda according to income percapita of their population. With the Gishu land being one of the top 3 most fertile land in Uganda, Agriculture is the biggest main economic activity in their land. They producers of Robust coffee which is most profitable cash crop in East Africa
