What is Phaneroo?
The Phanero ministries led by its Vision bearer Apostle Grace Lubega, is said to be a dynamic, life transforming and generational impacting ministry with a vision to transform nations and the entire world with the word of God. It is an international ministry founded in Uganda and its services are held at Naguru. The name Phaneroo is a Greek word meaning “ Bringing to manifestation that which existed but is not seen” .They understand the visibility of visible things. Over the years Phaneroo has grown from a relatively small fellowship into a ministry with a significant following in Uganda and internationally. Some of the activities in the ministry include weekly fellowships, Sunday services, conferences, prison outreach, youth engagements like family and other community initiatives.
Grace Lubega before Phaneroo
Grace Lubega studied at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration. After completing his studies , he joined the banking sector in 2008 and worked at two banks including Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). Lubega revealed in an interview with Daily Monitor that he had worked in banking for six years before establishing Phaneroo but was always interested in ministry work since the age of eight.
Wife and family
The Apostle is married to Nicole Kavuma Lubega whom she met while at UCU. The couple got married on 9th March,2019 at Victoria Serena Hotel in Kigo, Wakiso District and since then built a home together although information about their children is not shared publicly. Nicole is a law graduate at UCU and maintains a relatively private profile.
Why Lubega started the Ministry

Lubega explained in an interview by Daily Monitor in 2024 that he experienced a vision in 2013 which he understood as an assignment from God. The vision introduced him to a new understanding of the direction he believed the church would take and the following year, 2014, he had started working towards the ministry. His desire to communicate Christian teachings and address people’s questions about faith and their everyday lives rather than leaving them confused and with more questions also contributed to the ministry.
When the Ministry Started
Phaneroo Ministries International was established or launched on the 14th of August 2014 at Theatre La Bonita in Central Kampala. The ministry is said to have been in existence even before the launch but was just not sounding. The apostle said that he borrowed Shs5 million to help get the ministry started and for a new ministry, approximately 1000 people attended the first official service which was quite impressive.
Where Services Were Held Before Naguru.
The first official service was held at Theatre La Bonita but eventually this place became small to accommodate the growing congregation so the ministry relocated to the MTN arena in Lugogo. The unstoppable growth later forced them to shift to the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) multipurpose hall still in Lugogo before expanding the gatherings to the UMA showgrounds. Eventually, the Ministry established its current major gathering venue at Phaneroo Grounds in Naguru.
How and why it grew so quickly
Phaneroo’s rapid growth is due to many tactics among which is the way the biblical teachings are explained in a way that connects with everyday life.Lubega once said that young people were looking for answers to questions about faith and life and he made sure to provide them with what they needed. This has attracted students, young professionals, families and older believers. The young people in the ministry also play a significant role as these especially University students look out to enroll more students at campus to join Paneroo. The consistent weekly gatherings especially the Thursday fellowship, community outreaches, conferences and digital platforms reach several people locally and internationally. Phaneroo also provides free transport to its people seeking to go for prayers.
Phaneroo’s 10th Anniversary

On 10th August, 2024, Phaneroo celebrated ten years since its establishment under the theme A Decade of God’s Grace. The anniversary took place at Phaneroo Grounds in Naguru and attracted thousands of believers. One of the major highlights was the presence of Nigerian gospel minister and musician Nathaniel Bassey who participated in the celebrations and ministered through music.
Phaneroo Today
More than a decade after its establishment, Phaneroo has grown into a ministry with significant presence in Uganda and other parts of the world but for Apostle Grace Lubega, it’s far from complete. Its major gatherings take place at Phaneroo grounds Naguru, Kampala. The ministries website lists Thursday fellowships at 5pm and Sunday services at 9am and 11am. The ministry also continues to use television, radio and online platforms like Youtube to share its teachings with audiences in and beyond Uganda.
